The importance of Anti-poaching Units
Active patrols are the most efficient ways of learning how illegal poachers move through reserves and plant wire snares. Anti-poaching units are elite groups of individuals who monitor the reserve on the ground. Through setting ambushes on poachers entering the reserve, collection of wire snares and spears as well as observance of wildlife movement patterns, anti-poaching units are able to limit illegal poaching.
It is not an easy task to find committed individuals willing to set their lives at risk to protect wildlife populations. But nothing great comes easy. Donations and sponsors for boots and other equipment is a primary mechanism in supporting these individuals. All of the proceeds we collect go towards funding anti-poaching units.
